Harvesting Spinach

Harvesting spinach is a very easy matter. Just cut the leaves from the spinach plant that are large enough to be used. Leaves start at the bottom of a spinach plant so these would be the first leaves that will be harvested. As the spinach plant grows, smaller leaves will appear incrementally. Spinach plants can be harvested repeatedly, or when thinning early in the season, the whole plant can be harvested at once. Once a spinach plant begins to bolt the leaves become bitter and less palatable, so be sure to harvest spinach early and often for best taste.
